Welcome to my Wellness category page. This is something that we all know we should be making  a priority in our lives but sometimes it becomes very difficult to do that.  I myself have always struggled with working toward better health.  You can buy all the diet plans, workout videos and super cute workout outfits but that doesn’t help anything if you don’t use them.  It’s always the same excuses; not enough time, constant distractions, not enough energy, too much body pain.  The list goes on and on.  Until we can manage to really focus on our health it’s very unlikely we will make any progress. This is why we’re here isn’t it? We’re always looking for something new to inspire us to do more, to do better than last time.

So here we are, trying to invigorate our efforts or refocus our intents.  It’s difficult to do alone. When thinking about physical fitness, I’ve found that the things I’ve managed to at least keep up with involve connecting with other people. I’ve been taking Tap and Ballet/Jazz for the past 12 years at the same studio where my kids dance. We have this little band of adult dancers (no, not that kind), who don’t take ourselves too seriously but we show up enjoy our dance. They’re my people. I’m not saying that everyone needs to go out and join a dance troupe but you do need to find your people.

Although it’s best to connect with people in real life it is a nice option to connect with people on the internet if you can’t do that.  I’ve been a member of Sparkpeople for about 8 years and I find the site very useful. The main site is free and there are tons of users online to be inspired by.

Wellness isn’t just your physical fitness but also your health.  Are you fueling your body with the right things? Are you managing any health issues you might be at risk for? Are you taking good care of yourself? All these things together make up wellness. Here I will do my best to share the most useful information.  Enjoy.
