Many members of my family are or were carpenters and or craftsmen. So I have a long history with construction and woodworking. My dad has been a carpenter all my life and loves to build things. Now that he’s in his later years he has moved on to crafting beautiful pieces out of wood. I’m very excited to be able to share some of his creations here in this series.
The other woodworker in my life is my husband Robert. He and my dad have built everything together from beds to houses. He can build just about anything you ask for out of wood and his passion is for furniture and cabinetry, both stand alone and built-in. I can’t wait to show you guys all the pieces he has created for our beautiful home.

Making a Headboard Bench
Hi guys! Today I will be talking about this awesome bench my husband made from an old twin size bed. This was actually his childhood bed and we had used the bed rails for another project so we wanted to do something with the rest of it without having to throw it out. I had seen a ton of these on Pinterest and thought this is a perfect solution.
