Welcome to my Being Crafty category page. It all started with my Aunt Birdie and Plastic Canvas. I was visiting with my cousins Vallie and Jay and was intrigued by the work on her project so she showed me how easy it was to do. I was around 10 years old and I just loved Christmas decorations so, as soon as I could, I got my hands on a pattern book. Over the years I’m sure that I made every project in that book.
I had been aware that my mother sewed but it was right about the same time that I took an interest it as well. I, like every other little girl my age, had Cabbage Patch Kids and ended up making several super cute outfits for them. My love for the creative outlet has grown by leaps and bounds from there. Over the years I’ve done sewing and macrame including friendship bracelets in my youth. I’ve dabbled in quilting and making clothes and bags. I’ve reupholstered a few things and made bags. I’ve also done a little knitting and crocheting.
Here I hope to share with you guys my love for all things craft, and don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss out on future posts.

Making Cushions for a Headboard Bench
Of all the things I’ve searched for, I had yet to find anything that was couch like for a headboard bench. I have to say it took me a while to get this figured out but I’m quite pleased with the results.
Reupholstering a Base Rocker
Sometimes it’s best to modify and update a piece of beloved family furniture instead of kicking it to the curb.
